Our 2010 fall musical is Hairspray. The musical Hairspray is based on
a movie written and directed by John Walters. This show is about two hours and forty minutes with a 15 minute intermission. Hairspray is being shown
at Neil Simon Theater between Broadway and 8th Avenue.
Hairspray is a Broadway musical taking place in 1962. Tracy Trumblad is a girl who has a passion for dancing. Tracy is a very big, hefty girl and has a big, hefty hairdo. She wants to be on her favorite television show, "The Corny Collins Show.” When Tracy wins the spot, she becomes a hit right away. Tracy falls in love with the stunning male lead, Link Larkin. Tracy tries to change the teenage stereotype of tall, thin and perfect, tries to integrate a television show, and tries to win the heart of the stunning Link Larkin. Can she do it? Only Hairspray will tell! Hairspray is a phenomenal show that you can’t miss!
Many people are needed to put the performance together. There are principle and supporting roles, the ensemble, the people in charge of choreography, music, props, backdrops, and many other things. Lastly, there are the producers. The performance could not go on if it were missing someone. Each person is important-even if they are not going to be on stage. Below is a list of most of the people needed to put the show together.
